Dr. John H. Winston, III

John H. Winston, III, M.D. brings many years of extensive experience to the San Antonio region and the Colorectal Surgery Services, PLLC.

Dr. Winston received an engineering degree from the University of Alabama then received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his residencies in General Surgery & Colorectal Surgery at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC receiving diverse training in all aspects of surgery of the colon, rectum & anus. After completing his training, he held academic positions at the Ohio State University then the University of Texas HSC at San Antonio.

Dr. John Winston’s surgical & research interests include defecatory physiology, anorectal ultrasound, benign anal diseases, rectal cancer and minimally invasive surgery. He is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. He has been elected as fellow in both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgery, achieving this very early in his career. This gives him the added skill & experience to take care of the most complex diseases of the colon, rectum and anus.

He was raised in Alabama where his extensive family remains. He married his childhood sweetheart & has a young daughter. He enjoys refurbishing furniture in his spare time.

Dr. T. Spencer Skelton

Dr. Skelton received his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in Biomedical Science. He obtained his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

He completed his General Surgery Residency and his Colorectal Surgical Fellowship at the Houston Methodist Hospital and The Colon and Rectal Clinic of Houston. His training provides him with the added skill and experience to manage complex diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. He has presented his work at several important local and national meetings, including the American College of Surgeons Annual Symposium.

Dr. Skelton trained under the guidance of several internationally prominent colon and rectal surgeons. His surgical interests include benign and malignant disease of the colon and rectum, anorectal disease such as anal fistulas, and minimally invasive surgery. He is board certified in General Surgery through the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Skelton was born and raised in the Piney Woods of Texas and has recently relocated to the Hill Country to be closer to family. He has a young family which includes two little boys and his wife which he met in medical school. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing with his children and playing golf. He is a member of the New Braunfels Mens’ Golf Association and the Comal County Texas A&M Former Students Association.
